Drink coffee, live longer

If you’ve been worried about the effects of your morning coffee pick-me-up, or feel guilty when supping a sneaky cappuccino – There is some good news out there!

Recent research from the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) and Imperial College London found that higher levels of coffee consumption were associated with a reduced risk of death from all causes, particularly from circulatory and digestive tract diseases.

We have been supplying coffee to customers for many years now, it is part of our service that includes all things catering in addition to our traditional office supplies, and one of our biggest sellers is the big 750g tins of Nescafe coffee. We knew we were making our customers happy with this service, but we had no idea we were helping with their health as well!

Professor Elio Riboli, head of the School of Public Health at Imperial, who established the EPIC study, said: “These findings add to a growing body of evidence which indicates that drinking coffee not only is safe, but it may actually have a protective health effect for people. While further research is needed, we can be confident that the results from a large European study confirm previous findings seen around the world.”
